Alison Spirito

Born in Los Angeles, California, Alison graduated from the University of Southern California in 2013 with B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law and minor in Spanish (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude). She graduated from USC Gould School of Law with a J.D. in 2017.


Before joining us as an attorney, Alison was a law clerk at McGaughey & Spirito, where she assisted supervising attorneys with client intake and conferences. She researched various complex family law issues and prepared drafts of requests for orders and memorandums. Alison also prepared initial copies of client disclosures, letters to opposing counsel and parties, and participated in custody settlement conferences.

Alison was a summer associate in 2015 and 2016 at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, a large civil litigation firm based in downtown Los Angeles, where she propounded discovery and inventoried document productions. She also researched and wrote memoranda on legal issues and inconsistencies in witness depositions.

During law school, Alison was a judicial extern at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse serving the Honorable B. Scott Silverman, where she synopsized family law requests for order on topics including child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, arrearages, child abduction preventions, parenting plan assessments, and property sales.

Alison co-authored an article titled “Improving the Mental Health of Children in Divorce,” which was published in the 2017 Family Law Symposium Reference Book. She  volunteers at the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project, where she drafts declarations for victims of domestic violence seeking temporary restraining orders. She is currently an Ambassador to USC’s Young Alumni Council and serves on the Career/Professional Development Committee.
