Alison Spirito, Law Clerk
Alison Spirito received her Juris Doctor degree from University of Southern California Law School in May 2017. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Philosophy, Politics and Law. As an undergraduate, Alison was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society and honored on the USC Wall of Scholars.
As a law clerk at McGaughey & Spirito, Alison assists attorneys with client intake and client conferences. She researches various complex family law issues and prepares drafts of Requests for Orders and memorandums. Alison also prepares initial copies of client disclosures, letters to opposing counsel and parties, and participates in custody settlement conferences.
In 2016, Alison worked as a judicial extern serving the Honorable B. Scott Silverman at Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, where she synopsized family law Requests for Orders on topics including spousal support, child support, arrearages, child custody, visitation, child abduction preventions, parenting plan assessments, and property sales.
In 2015 and 2016, Alison worked as a summer associate at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith in Los Angeles. During that time, she prepared discovery, drafted cross-complaints and outlines of deposition questions, and interviewed experts. She also researched and wrote memoranda on legal issues and inconsistencies in witness depositions.
Alison is proficient in Spanish.
